The Inland Empire Chapter is an organization within the Photographic Society of America (PSA) for the individual members of the geographic area of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. The Chapter meets once yearly in October for its Annual Meeting and in 2009 celebrated its 50th anniversary as a Chapter.

All members of the Inland Empire Chapter must be members of the Photographic Society of America. All those residing in the Inland Empire are automatically Chapter members. (Inland Empire Chapter charges no dues to belong to the Chapter.) Interested out-of-area photographers are invited to join PSA and may contact the Chapter Membership chairman or the PSA Region 26 Director for information. Note: all Chapter notifications are handled via email. Members will wish to keep the Chapter and PSA itself always current with email address as well as “snail mail” address and telephone number.

The business of this Chapter is managed by a Board of Directors composed of elected officers and appointed chairpersons.

  • The Chapter sponsors an annual Seminar open to the public, in the spring of the year, bringing a well known professional photographer to the Spokane area. Among the photographers that have been featured at the Inland Empire Chapter have been Frans Lanting, George Lepp, John Shaw, Don Gale, and Marc Muench with Darrell Gulin returning in 2011!

  • The annual PSA Youth Showcase competition is sponsored locally by Inland Empire Chapter for high school-aged students (see link). Home school students, 4-H and similar groups plus area high schools are eligible to take part (no entry fee) but must be “sponsored “ in order to take part.

  • Members of the Chapter are eligible to take part in PSA’s annual competition between Chapters (known as the Chapter Showcase) with a local run-off each Spring to select the top ten images to represent Inland Empire Chapter. A call for images is announced in the newsletter and on email.

  • Field Trips and outings have been an offered to members of the Inland Empire Chapter
